4 c flour

1/2 c cornstarch

3/4 c whole milk

1 tablespoon poppy seeds

5 Eggs

2 c cold butter, divided

3/4 c sour cream

3 to 4 Vidalia onions, chopped into 1-inch pieces

1 teaspoon paprika

1 tablespoon baking powder

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.

Place a pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

Add 1/2 cup of butter and allow it to melt.

Add the onions into the pan, then sauté for about 10 minutes.

Add paprika, salt, pepper, and poppy seeds. Stir everything until well blended. Remove from the stove.

Add baking powder, sugar, and flour into a large mixing bowl. Whisk everything until well incorporated.

Add 1 1/4 cups of butter, then stir until it resembles a dough.

In a mixing bowl, add the remaining butter and put it inside the microwave, and heat until melted completely.

In another bowl, add sour cream, milk, melted butter, eggs, and milk. Whisk until well blended.

Create a well in the middle of the flour mixture, then add the milk mixture to it. Stir everything until well incorporated.

Apply cooking spray to a 10-inch springform pan.

Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and spread it evenly.

Place the batter inside the preheated oven and bake for about 35 to 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean after inserting it in the middle.

Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to rest for 5 minutes at room temperature.

Serve and enjoy!
