Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices of thickly sliced bread Texas toast, or Challah bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch salt

Instructions
 

  • Over medium heat, heat a skillet or griddle (325-325°F).
  • Mix together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl. Transfer the mixture to a shallow baking dish.
  • Each slice of bread should be placed in the egg mixture and allowed to soak for between 20-30 seconds. Allow any excess liquid to drain into the dish.
  • Lightly butter the griddle/pan or spray it with cooking oil.
  • Place bread slices on a griddle/pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes each side until golden brown. Adjust heat as needed to prevent burning.
  • Serve warm with your toppings.
