I love desserts and it’s my favorite thing to do for the holidays. I like to make them for the parents when they come over for dinner and I always get rave reviews. They are one of the easiest things to prepare, too.

This Better Than Anything Chocolate Trifle Recipe is one of our all-time favorite desserts! It’s so easy to make and can be made ahead of time, which is always a bonus. This trifle is chocolate lover’s dream come true with layers of devil’s food cake, chocolate pudding, whipped cream, and chocolate shavings.

Prep Time: 30 minutes
chill time: 6 hours
Total Time: 6 hours 30 minutes
Servings: 24 servings

Ingredients:

1 Chocolate cake baked and cooled Devils Food Cake for a good flavor (*optional).

16 oz Stabilized whipped cream or cool whip
1 1/2 C caramel sauce, or jar of caramel sauce from the store
14 oz sweetened condensed Milk
Chop 5-6 skor bars/heath bars

How to Make the Trifle:

Slice the cake in 1 inch pieces. Place one half of the cake on the bottom portion of your trifle pan.

Pour half the can sweet and condensed dairy milk on top. Next sprinkle half the caramel over the top. Finish with half the whipped topping.

Repeat the cake/milk/caramel/skor/cream layer

Sprinkle more skor bars on top (and decorative whipped topping border).

Now let the trifle cool in the fridge for at least 8 hours. This will allow the trifle to set and become extra goopy.
