Creamy Cajun Chicken and Sausage Pasta

Ingredients
  

  • 3 Tbsp butter unsalted, sliced
  • 1 lb. Chicken breasts
  • 6 oz. 6 oz.
  • 8 oz. baby Bella mushrooms sliced
  • Cajun seasoning to your taste
  • Italian seasoning to your taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste, optional
  • Creamy Parmesan Sauce:
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 cup chicken broth sodium free
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp Cajun Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated for the best results
  • Sea salt to taste.
  • Pasta:
  • 8 oz. penne pasta

Instructions
 

  • Pasta:
  • Cook the pasta in salty water following the instructions on package. Drain the pasta and place in a bowl.
  • Sausages, chicken, and mushrooms
  • Season chicken with salt and pepper. You will cook it whole if you don't slice it yet. Cut sausage into quarter inch rounds and cut mushrooms.
  • Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the pan is heated, add whole breasts to it and cook for approximately 4-5 minutes each side. This will take about 8-10 minutes. Place the chicken on a plate. Slice into strips.
  • Slice the sausage and brown them in a skillet on medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes each side, until they are darker around the edges. Transfer the sausage from the skillet to a plate.
  • Heat a little water in a saucepan. Add the 2nd tablespoon butter to the skillet and then add the sliced mushrooms . (Add more butter if necessary). Sauté the mushrooms until they are tender and start to turn dark. Once they are cooked, take them out of the pan.
  • Sauce:
  • Make the sauce by adding the remaining 1 tablespoon butter to the pan. Let it melt, then fry the garlic in it until it becomes slightly brown - this will only take a few minutes. Then add chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce to the saucepan. Finally, heat heavy cream until it comes to a simmer. Mix in Cajun seasoning and paprika.
  • To thicken the sauce, add Parmesan cheese to the mixture. Salt to taste.
  • Stir in the cooked pasta and mix well. Then, add the sausages, chicken and mushrooms to the pan. Heat for 2 minutes. To keep the heat in, close the lid. Serve immediately
