How To Make Grandma’s American Goulash

This is one of the most popular recipes for American Goulash, and it’s super easy to make. First, start by browning ground beef in a large pot or Dutch oven. Then add canned tomatoes with their liquid and macaroni to the pot. Finally, cover and simmer for about twenty minutes, stirring occasionally.

Ingredients:

Ground beef 1 lb
1 small onion, chopped
1 teaspoon minced garlic
Crushed tomatoes 15 oz.
8 oz can tomato sauce
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup elbow macaroni pasta cooked (measured prior to cooking).
For serving, grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

Brown the beef and onion in a large saucepan over medium heat. Then drain any grease.

Mix in the tomatoes with juices and tomato sauce.

Add sugar, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper to taste. Mix well and bring to boil.

Reduce heat to low and simmer for approximately 10 minutes.

Stir in the cooked pasta. Let simmer for 5 minutes more, then add the pasta and stir.

Sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese on top.
