Why This Salisbury Steak with Gravy Recipe is a Must-Try

  • This recipe uses ground sirloin, which is leaner than other cuts of beef, making it a healthier option.
  • The mixture of garlic, onion, parsley, and breadcrumbs adds extra flavor and texture to the patties.
  • The savory gravy made with Campbell’s beef gravy, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and mushrooms complements the beef patties perfectly, creating a mouthwatering dish that everyone will love.
  • This dish is perfect for meal prepping and can be easily reheated, making it a great option for busy weeknights.

Ingredients:

  • 680g (1.5 lb) ground sirloin
  • 1/2 onion, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, grated
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup flavored bread crumbs
  • 180ml (3/4 cup) milk
  • 2 cans of Campbell’s beef gravy (10.5 oz each)
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can of mushrooms (large) drained

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, grated onion, grated garlic, dried parsley flakes, salt, pepper, bread crumbs, and milk. Mix well with your hands until combined. Form into patties.
  2. Heat a little olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add patties and cook until browned on both sides and just about done.
  3. Place the cooked patties in a slow cooker.
  4. In the same pan you cooked the patties, add the beef gravy, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper. Stir to combine, scraping the bottom of the pan to get all the flavorful bits.
  5. Add the drained mushrooms to the pan and stir to combine.
  6. Pour the gravy mixture over the patties in the slow cooker.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite sides.

Notes: You can use any flavored breadcrumbs you like, or substitute them with crushed crackers. You can also use fresh mushrooms instead of canned. For a thicker gravy, you can mix a tablespoon of cornstarch with a little water and add it to the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking. This dish goes well with mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a side salad.
