Ingredients :

  • 500 g (1.1 lb) beef steak, cut into small pieces
  • 150 g (0.33 lb) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 100 g (0.22 lb) cream cheese, softened
  • 120 ml (0.26 lb) heavy cream
  • 1 medium onion (about 150 g / 0.33 lb), finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter (about 30 g / 0.07 lb)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Optional: 100 g (0.22 lb) mushrooms, sliced

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Cook the steak:
Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the steak pieces and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.

In the same pan, cook the chopped onion and garlic until soft and fragrant. Add mushrooms if using and cook until tender.
  4. Prepare the creamy mixture:
Lower the heat and stir in the cream cheese and heavy cream. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  5. Combine everything:
Return the steak to the pan, add salt, pepper, and paprika, and stir until everything is coated in the creamy sauce.
  6. Assemble the casserole:
Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
  7. Bake:
Place in the oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve:
Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!

Notes:

  • Substitutions: You can swap cheddar with mozzarella or a cheese blend for a different flavor.
  • Add Veggies: Spinach, zucchini, or broccoli work great for extra nutrients.
  • Make it Spicy: Add chili flakes or jalapeños for a kick.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven or microwave.
  • Keto Tip: Make sure your cream and cheese are full-fat to stay within keto guidelines.
