When it’s busy and you don’t want to be confined in the kitchen for hours on end, these pizza bites are a sure-fire way to please a crowd!
Prep Time: 5 mins
Cook Time: 15 mins
Total Time: 20 mins
Ingredients:
12 Hawaiian bread rolls or dinner rolls
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
6 slices of deli-sliced honey ham or black forest
6 slices mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup fresh or canned pineapple tidbits finely diced,
1 tablespoon unsalted butter melted
Salt a pinch
A small pinch of pepper is all that’s needed
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F
Use a bread knife or a cutter to cut the dinner rolls in half. Leave the tops alone.
Place the bottoms on a baking sheet. Because it is so easy to clean, I prefer to line my baking sheet using a Silicon Baking Sheet.
Spread the pizza sauce on the bottom half of each roll, reaching the edges. Sprinkle the sauce with Italian seasoning.
Layer the ham slices on top of the pizza sauce. It may take more or less ham depending on how large your ham slices are to cover the rolls. This is your chance to make a good judgment.
Add slices of mozzarella cheese to the top of your ham. (I bought mine at the deli counter.
Spread the pineapple on top of the cheese. Every bite should contain some pineapple.
Place the roll tops on top of the pineapple and cut the side towards the fruit.
Butter the tops of the rolls using a pastry brush. Add salt and pepper to the butter.
Bake for 15 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese has melted.
Remove the oven from the oven carefully. Once the sliders are cool enough for handling, you can cut them apart with a knife. Transfer the sliders to a plate and serve immediately.
