The Best Hamburger Potato Cheese Casserole Recipe

This is a classic hamburger potato cheese casserole. It’s such an easy dish to make that it’s perfect for any busy weeknight meal. The best part is you can easily add or omit ingredients as you see fit!

This dish is so easy to make and only requires a few ingredients that you likely already have in your kitchen. The hamburger, potato, and cheese casserole is a classic comfort food that will please the whole family. This recipe is perfect for those busy weeknights when you don’t have time to cook a complicated meal. Simply brown the hamburger, mix it with some frozen potatoes and shredded cheese, and bake it in the oven. In less than an hour, you’ll have a hot and delicious meal that everyone will love.

INGREDIENTS:

4-5 large potatoes
1 lb ground beef lean
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup milk
12 slices cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to your liking
For garnish, chop parsley

INSTRUCTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350°F
Slice potatoes and set aside
Brown the onion and ground beef in a large skillet on medium heat. Let simmer for 5-10 mins, then remove from heat.
Combine cream of mushroom soup with milk, garlic powder and salt in a bowl. Mix well
Spray a 9×13 baking pan with nonstick spray
Half of the potatoes should be placed in the bottom baking dish.
Add half of the ground beef mixture to the top
Half the soup mixture should be poured over the ground beef
Add sliced cheddar cheese to the top
Continue with the second layer and top it with any remaining sliced cheese
Place aluminum foil on top and cover with aluminum foil.
Bake potatoes for 45-50 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until they are tender to the touch.
Place the casserole in the oven for 10 minutes.
Garnish with parsley
Slice and serve
