These delicious bars are a great way to upgrade your afternoon snack or bake up a treat for the kids. The salty and sweet combo is irresistible and you only need 4 ingredients!
Prep Time: 10 mins
Cook Time: 10 mins
Chilling Time: 30 mins
4 cups pretzels (mini pretzel twists)
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar packed
2 cups chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 325F. Use aluminum foil to line a baking tray and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
Once the pretzels are placed on the baking sheet, spread them out in one layer.
Over medium heat, melt the butter in a small pan. Bring the mixture to a boil. Then, continue boiling it for 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
Sprinkle the bubbly mixture all over the pretzels. Don’t worry if some of the caramel bits don’t bake.
Bake at 325F for 8-10 mins until caramel bubbles up on the entire sheet.
The baking sheet should be taken out of the oven. Sprinkle the chocolate chips all over the top. The chocolate chips will continue to soften if the baking pan is left in the oven for an additional 1 to 2 minutes.
Spread the melted chocolate using a spatula. After 30 minutes, place the baking pan in the freezer.
The pretzel bars should be removed from the baking sheet. You can either break it up or cut it into small pieces with a big knife.
