Ingredients
  

  • 2 19 oz packages Johnsonville Italian Sweet Sausages
  • 4 Red peppers sliced
  • 4 green peppers sliced
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tbsp garlic paste
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1 cup water
  • To serve: Hot Dog Buns or Cooked Pasta

Instructions
 

  • Cut all green peppers, red bell peppers, and onions. This step takes the longest. The rest is easy!
  • All of your sliced vegetables can be placed in a 4- to 6-quart slow cooker.
  • Season vegetables with Italian seasoning and garlic powder. Add salt and pepper.
  • Combine 1 cup warm water with tomato paste in a large bowl or measuring cup.
  • Mix the tomato paste with onion. Stir well. Cover with a lid and let it cook on low for approximately 4-6 hours, stirring every now and again.

  • Close the lid, and then turn on power. Now relax and enjoy! The grill will do all of the work. A thermometer is located inside the grill to ensure that the sausages reach the desired temperature within 10-15 minutes.
  • When the sausages have been cooked, the grill will ring. Continue with the second packet of Italian sweet sausages.
  • Put the sausage and peppers in your slow cooker. It should be stirred all around. Place slow cooker on the warm setting. Cover until ready to serve
  • It can be served as a whole meal or in hot dog buns.
  • You can make it your favorite way. Combine the onion and pepper mixtures with the sausages. The flavors will soak into the sausages!
