Ingredients
  

The cake:

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa Powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk at room temp
  • 1/4 cup Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water or piping hot coffee

The frosting:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened until room temperature
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered Sugar - Sifted to Remove Any Unwanted Parts
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur
  • 1 tablespoon heavy whipping cream
  • Garnish with shaved chocolat

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat the oven to 350° Fahrenheit. Grease a 9-inch x 13-inch rectangular pan with butter. Line the bottom with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • Mix together the sugar, flour and baking soda in a large bowl.
  • Mix the milk, Baileys and vegetable oil together in a large measuring cup. Use a fork to mix them.
  • Mix the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until you see no streaks of flour.
  • Mix the hot water or coffee with a small amount at a time. Whisk until well blended.
  • Bake the batter in a prepared pan for 30 minutes at 350° Fahrenheit or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.

The frosting:

  • Use a hand mixer to beat the butter or use a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Beat until light and fluffy. Mix in the cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and stir until well blended.
  • Mix in the Baileys salt and whip it on medium-high speed till combined.
  • Mix the whipping cream in a bowl. Use 1 tablespoon to get the frosting smooth.
  • After the cake has cooled completely, spread the frosting on top and smoothen the edges.
  • Spread some dark chocolate on top of the frosting. Slice and enjoy.
