Pre-heat oven to 350°F Aluminum foil can be used to line a 9x13-inch baking pan. Spray lightly with cooking spray.
Place one can of crescent roll in the bottom baking dish. Bake for 7 minutes in the preheated oven
Combine lemon juice, 1 1/2 lemon zest, cream cheese 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla extract, and 1/2 cup of water in a large bowl. Use an electric hand mixer to combine the ingredients until smooth.
Spread cream cheese mixture on a crescent roll crust that has been partially baked.
Spread the cream cheese mixture on top of the crescent roll dough.
Butter the dough.
Combine 3 tablespoons sugar with the lemon zest in a small bowl. Spread the sugar mixture on top of the melted butter.
Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown
Allow the bars to cool for 20 minutes, then let them cool again before storing in the refrigerator for one hour.
Transfer the dessert to a cutting board by lifting it from the baking dish. Slice the dessert into bars, and enjoy.
