LEMON CREAM CHEESE BARS

These Lemon Cream Cheese Bars are the perfect sweet and tart treat! The creamy filling is made with just a few simple ingredients, and the shortbread crust comes together in minutes. These bars are sure to be a hit at your next party!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 8-oz cans crescent rolls, divided
  • 2 8-oz packages cream cheese, softened
  • 2 lemons juiced and zested divided
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbsp butter melted
  • 3 Tbsp sugar

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat oven to 350°F Aluminum foil can be used to line a 9x13-inch baking pan. Spray lightly with cooking spray.
  • Place one can of crescent roll in the bottom baking dish. Bake for 7 minutes in the preheated oven
  • Combine lemon juice, 1 1/2 lemon zest, cream cheese 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla extract, and 1/2 cup of water in a large bowl. Use an electric hand mixer to combine the ingredients until smooth.
  • Spread cream cheese mixture on a crescent roll crust that has been partially baked.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture on top of the crescent roll dough.
  • Butter the dough.
  • Combine 3 tablespoons sugar with the lemon zest in a small bowl. Spread the sugar mixture on top of the melted butter.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown
  • Allow the bars to cool for 20 minutes, then let them cool again before storing in the refrigerator for one hour.
  • Transfer the dessert to a cutting board by lifting it from the baking dish. Slice the dessert into bars, and enjoy.
