Ingredients
  

  • 3-4 sweet onions sliced into ¼ inch rounds (700g)
  • 4 tablespoons butter 56g
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste (5g)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder 2g
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano 1g
  • 1 cup shredded Italian blend cheese 113g
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese 113g
  • ½ cup shredded parmesan cheese 56g

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Slice the sweet onions into ¼ inch rounds and separate the rings.
  • Arrange the onion rings in the baking dish and sprinkle them with salt, garlic powder, and oregano.
  • Place pats of butter evenly over the onions.
  • Sprinkle the Italian blend and cheddar cheese over the onions, and top with parmesan cheese.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the onions are tender.

Notes

You can use any type of sweet onion, but Vidalia onions work particularly well.
You can use any type of cheese that melts well in this recipe, such as mozzarella or provolone.
To make this recipe vegetarian, you can use a plant-based butter substitute.
