APPLE PIE FILLING COFFEE CAKE

Ingredients
  

  • 1 package white cake mix 432 g or 15.25 oz
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup 240 g sour cream
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup 60 ml water
  • 1 can 595 g or 21 oz apple pie filling

Glaze:

  • 1 cup 120 g confectioners' sugar
  • 1-1 1/2 tablespoons 15-22 ml milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, ground cinnamon, sour cream, eggs, and water. Mix until well combined.
  • Grease a 13x9-inch cake pan with cooking spray and sprinkle flour on it.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  • Spoon the apple pie filling over the batter.
  • Bake for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the middle.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 10 minutes at room temperature.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the milk and powdered sugar. Stir until well blended. Add more milk if the glaze is too thick.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
  • Allow it to cool completely at room temperature.
  • Slice into even pieces and serve.

Notes

You can substitute the apple pie filling with any other fruit filling of your choice.
For a more indulgent cake, add chopped nuts or caramel sauce on top.
Store the cake in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
