Cuisine American
- 2 packages of refrigerated crescent rolls 16 oz/454 g each
- 2 lbs 907 g ground beef
- 2 tablespoons 28 g butter
- 4 cups 500 g green cabbage, shredded
- 1 large yellow onion finely chopped
- 1 1/2 cups 170 g Mozzarella cheese, grated
- Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray and set it aside.
Unroll one tube of crescent rolls but do not separate the rolls. Place the sheet in the bottom of the prepared baking dish and bake for 5 minutes.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, season the ground beef and cook until no longer pink. Drain the fat as needed and push the meat to the outer edges of the skillet.
Add butter to the center of the skillet. Once melted, add onions, salt, and pepper, and cook, stirring for 2 minutes.
Add cabbage and let cook down until wilted, about 5 minutes. Adjust seasoning as needed.
Spread the beef and cabbage mixture over the baked crescent rolls in the baking dish. Top with Mozzarella cheese and the remaining sheet of crescent roll dough.
Bake until the top is golden brown, 20-25 minutes. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
