APPLE PIE FILLING COFFEE CAKE

Ingredients
  

  • 1 package white cake mix 432 g or 15.25 oz
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup 240 g sour cream
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup 60 ml water
  • 1 can 595 g or 21 oz apple pie filling
Glaze:
  • 1 cup 120 g confectioners' sugar
  • 1-1 1/2 tablespoons 15-22 ml milk

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, ground cinnamon, sour cream, eggs, and water. Mix until well combined.
  3. Grease a 13x9-inch cake pan with cooking spray and sprinkle flour on it.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  5. Spoon the apple pie filling over the batter.
  6. Bake for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in the middle.
  7. Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 10 minutes at room temperature.
  8. In a mixing bowl, combine the milk and powdered sugar. Stir until well blended. Add more milk if the glaze is too thick.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
  10. Allow it to cool completely at room temperature.
  11. Slice into even pieces and serve.

Notes

You can substitute the apple pie filling with any other fruit filling of your choice.
For a more indulgent cake, add chopped nuts or caramel sauce on top.
Store the cake in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
