- Place the butter in a saucepan and heat on medium heat. Add the butter.
- Once the butter has melted, add the flour to the bowl and stir to combine.
- To get rid of the raw flour taste, simmer the roux for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Next, add the milk. Stir or whisk until combined.
- Stir in the cracked black pepper and chipped beef to the white wine and let it simmer for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until it thickens.
- Serve with toasted bread (shingles), biscuits, or hashbrowns
