Ingredients
  

  • 2 19 oz packages Johnsonville Italian Sweet Sausages
  • 4 Red peppers sliced
  • 4 green peppers sliced
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tbsp garlic paste
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1 cup water
  • To serve: Hot Dog Buns or Cooked Pasta

Method
 

  1. Cut all green peppers, red bell peppers, and onions. This step takes the longest. The rest is easy!
  2. All of your sliced vegetables can be placed in a 4- to 6-quart slow cooker.
  3. Season vegetables with Italian seasoning and garlic powder. Add salt and pepper.
  4. Combine 1 cup warm water with tomato paste in a large bowl or measuring cup.
  5. Mix the tomato paste with onion. Stir well. Cover with a lid and let it cook on low for approximately 4-6 hours, stirring every now and again.

  7. Close the lid, and then turn on power. Now relax and enjoy! The grill will do all of the work. A thermometer is located inside the grill to ensure that the sausages reach the desired temperature within 10-15 minutes.
  8. When the sausages have been cooked, the grill will ring. Continue with the second packet of Italian sweet sausages.
  9. Put the sausage and peppers in your slow cooker. It should be stirred all around. Place slow cooker on the warm setting. Cover until ready to serve
  10. It can be served as a whole meal or in hot dog buns.
  11. You can make it your favorite way. Combine the onion and pepper mixtures with the sausages. The flavors will soak into the sausages!
