Over medium heat, heat a skillet or griddle (325-325°F).
Mix together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl. Transfer the mixture to a shallow baking dish.
Each slice of bread should be placed in the egg mixture and allowed to soak for between 20-30 seconds. Allow any excess liquid to drain into the dish.
Lightly butter the griddle/pan or spray it with cooking oil.
Place bread slices on a griddle/pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes each side until golden brown. Adjust heat as needed to prevent burning.
Serve warm with your toppings.
