The key to a good pan-seared steak is all in the preparation. First, make sure your steak is at room temperature before cooking. This will help it cook evenly and prevent it from sticking to the pan. Next, season your steak with salt and pepper on both sides.

Once your steak is seasoned, heat a tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add your steak to the pan and cook for 3-5 minutes per side, or until it reaches the desired level of doneness.

While your steak is cooking, prepare your garlic butter sauce by melting butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Once the butter has melted, add minced garlic and stir until combined. Set the sauce aside until you’re ready to use it.

When your steak is cooked to perfection, remove it from the pan and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing into it. Serve with roasted potatoes and a drizzle of garlic butter sauce on top. Enjoy!
