easy chili mac

Chili mac is a hearty, yet simple dish that is perfect for a winter night. It is packed with flavor and can be easily made in one pot. This dish is also budget-friendly and can be made ahead of time.

Ingredients
  

  • Ground beef 1 pound 85/15
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 can Mexican-style or Chili-style Stewed Tomatoes undrained (14.5 ounces).
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons Homemade Taco seasoning or 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni or small shells
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded, divided

Instructions
 

  • Allow the pasta to cook for two minutes less than the instructions on the packet. Drain the pasta and allow it to cool.
  • Cook ground beef, onion and green pepper in a large skillet on medium heat for 5 minutes or until the beef is no longer pink. Drain.
  • Add tomatoes, water, and taco seasoning. Let simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Mix pasta in a pot. Stir well and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Mix in the cheese and stir to combine.
