Pound Cake
- 2 sticks butter softened
- 1 cup white granulated Sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups pecans chopped
Butter Pecan Glaze
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp of water
- 1 tbsp Pecan Extract
Pound Cake
Combine butter with all the sugars. Blend in all the eggs, vanilla, and baking powder. Mix in all flour until well combined.
Mix in the chopped pecans, then pour it into a greased Bundt Pan.
Bake the cake at 350 degrees F for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Butter Pecan Glaze
Over medium heat, melt butter and brown sugar in small saucepan. Turn off heat. Stir in extract or liqueur, and water. Keep warm.
After the cake has been baked, remove it from the oven and place on a wire rack. The cake should remain in the pan. To prevent the glaze from seeping out, poke holes in the top of your cake. Pour the melted butter sugar mixture slowly on top.
Allow mixture to soak through cake and holes. This step should be taken slowly. Keep the mixture from dripping onto the sides of your cake. Allow the cake to cool in a pan before removing it. Cut the cake and enjoy.
