Ingredients

  • 48-60 frozen tater tots approximately 16-oz or 454-567g
  • 3/4 cup 85g shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup 120g sour cream
  • 4 slices of bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 2 green onions sliced (green part only)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 450ºF (232ºC) and spray the cups of a muffin pan with cooking spray.
  • For a mini-sized muffin pan, place 2-3 tater tots in each muffin cup. For a regular-sized muffin pan, place 4-5 tater tots in each muffin cup.
  • Put the muffin pan with the tater tots on the bottom rack of the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven.
  • Spray the bottom of a shot glass or small juice glass with cooking spray. Use it in a twisting motion to press the tater tots in each muffin cup, creating a potato cup shape. Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the tater tots are deep golden brown.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of shredded cheese to each potato cup. Bake for another 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.
  • Transfer the loaded tater tot cups to a platter and let them cool for 5 minutes.
  • Top each tater tot cup with a dollop of sour cream, some crumbled bacon, and sliced green onions. Feel free to add any additional garnishes or toppings of your choice.
  • Serve the Loaded Tater Tots Appetizer warm and watch them disappear!
