Preheat the oven to 350°F
Lay the crescent roll dough on a large, ungreased cookie sheet. Seal the edges by pressing down on the perforations. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes, or until the top is light golden brown.
Mix the softened cream cheese with the sour cream while the crescent rolls bake. Use a whisk to remove any lumps. Set aside.
Brown the ground beef, then drain. Optional: Add one can of drained black bean for additional protein. Mix in the taco seasoning, 1/4 cup water, and cook for another 3-5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
After the crescent roll pizza dough has been baked, take it out of the oven and let cool for about 3-5 minutes. Spread the cream cheese/sour cream mixture on top of the crescent rolls. Sprinkle the ground beef mixture over the top. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and any other toppings.
Slice into bite-sized pieces and either serve immediately or keep in the fridge for cold taco pizza later.
